GET TO KNOW: The Skinny Band
Formed in 2019 in Greenville, Indiana, The Skinny delivers an engaging blend of classic rock and country, combining well-known covers with original material. The band has released two projects to date: The Blue EP and the full-length album Play It Like You Wrote It, both available across major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
As of 2026, the lineup features Craig Foster (keys, guitar, vocals), Braden Branham (guitar, vocals), Hannah Branham (vocals), Brian Badgett (guitar, vocals), Colin LaMure (bass), and Brandon Marlin (drums).
GET TO KNOW: Casey Powell & Monster Crew
Casey Powell is a Louisville-based multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer whose psychedelic rock sound has made him one of the city’s most compelling live acts. Leading his band Monster Crew, Powell brings a searing, genre-blending energy to every performance — raw and high-octane one moment, introspective and atmospheric the next.
Late 2025 marked a milestone with the release of the Human Nature EP, a collection of tracks that showcase Powell’s range as a writer and bandleader. The lead single “Suspense” sets the tone: trippy, personal, and alive with tension. It’s the kind of record that rewards repeated listens.
Powell and Monster Crew have earned multiple features on Louisville’s beloved 91.9 WFPK, and closed out 2025 performing at WFPK’s New Year’s Eve Bash at The Louisville Palace — one of the city’s most celebrated stages. He performs regularly throughout the year and remains one of Louisville’s most exciting acts to watch.
